Lighted Christmas Kickoff Parade & Fireworks Spectacular @ Downtown Dayton

All the wonderment and charm of an Old Fashioned Christmas will be on full display during the annual Christmas Kickoff in Downtown Dayton, Washington, Nov 24 and 25. Main Street comes alive with an abundance of seasonal festivities reminiscent of a traditional small town Christmas.

The merriment begins on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving at 9 AM as the shops open with holiday specials and a myriad of events commence that prove Dayton is truly “The Town That Still Believes.”

Most of the two days are packed with events for the family. The mule drawn hay rides are a trip back to yesteryear, departing from the Historic Train Depot each day.

Main Street comes aglow on Friday night during the Lighted Parade. Businesses and community groups gloriously decorate floats, cars, tractors, and even adorn animals with a bevy of colorful and twinkling holiday lights. The parade begins at 6 PM and is promptly followed by the Fireworks Show where folks can marvel at the wonderful array of colors as they rain down on Main Street.

Many homes in the Dayton area are spectacularly decorated with Christmas lights, and they are yours to behold on the Lighted Home Tour, which departs from Elk Drug on Friday following the fireworks, and on Saturday at 7 PM.

Throughout the two days of Christmas Kickoff, all of the shops in downtown will be open with plenty of holiday specials and adorned in Christmas decorations. The restaurants will be ready to satisfy your hunger with wonderful Christmas choices added to the menu.

The community of Dayton invites you to enjoy all the charms of an Old Fashioned Christmas at the annual Christmas Kickoff. For more information, contact the Dayton Chamber of Commerce at or 509-382-4825.
